PILATES FOR STRENGTH & PERFORMANCE
PILATES FOR STRENGTH & PERFORMANCE
Pilates is a full body conditioning workout - improving flexibility, coordination, balance and core strength. Tell us what your job, sport or daily routine requires and we will help you to build strength with a focus on functional movement.
Golfer? Maybe you want to achieve more power in rotation. Spending long hours at a desk? Maybe you want to work on your posture and core strength. Every single body is different and everyone has different goals. Let us help you to improve the way you move.

PILATES FOR INJURY REHAB & PREVENTION
PILATES FOR INJURY REHAB & PREVENTION
Many of us go about our daily lives without thinking about the position of our spine or the range of movement in our joints. It’s only when we experience pain or restricted movement that we become more aware of our body and its capabilities.
You might be recovering from a recent injury, or maybe you just need to ‘wake your body up’ and break old movement habits that are causing some discomfort.
At Pilates Lodge, we will assess the way you move and find ways to improve it. We will help you to build strength where you need it most, and encourage your body to move well and find its centre.

PREGNANCY PILATES
PREGNANCY PILATES
Your body goes through enormous changes during pregnancy. Pilates is a safe and effective way to exercise whilst pregnant and to prepare your body for labour and beyond. It can have an incredibly positive impact on your physical and mental wellbeing, and helps to prevent joint problems caused by looser ligaments and postural changes as your bump grows!
Our Pregnancy Pilates sessions include plenty of strengthening, release, relaxation and breathing exercises, all in preparation for the birth of your baby.
Fiona is Level 3 qualified to design and teach Pilates programmes during pregnancy and has two small children herself. Please note that you must be cleared for exercise by your GP or midwife before commencing antenatal Pilates sessions. We usually recommend waiting until your second trimester to start.

POST NATAL PILATES
POST NATAL PILATES
Pregnancy and childbirth effects every woman differently, and returning to exercise can seem daunting.
Postnatal Pilates is a safe and effective way to restore strength after having a baby. It can help to correct postural changes from your pregnancy, restore the pelvic floor and help to correct Diastasis recti /improve abdominal strength.
Our sessions will start with the basics to ensure that your core/pelvic floor muscles are sufficiently strengthened before progressing.
Fiona is Level 3 qualified to design and teach Pilates programmes during the post-natal period and has herself recovered from a traumatic forceps delivery and a C-section within the last 4 years!
Please note that you must be cleared for exercise by your GP or midwife before commencing postnatal Pilates sessions. This is usually 6 weeks after a straight-forward delivery or 12 weeks + after a C-section.

PILATES FOR BONE HEALTH
PILATES FOR BONE HEALTH
Bones naturally lose strength as we get older and many of us will develop concerns about our bone health, posture and balance as we age. Pilates can help to maintain bone mass, improve muscle strength and balance, as well as help with pain and posture.
If you are over 50, or have a diagnosis of osteopenia or osteoporosis or a history of fractures, it’s more important than ever to continue exercising and moving, but in a safe way, with some exercise adaptions.
At Pilates Lodge we are passionate about helping everyone to move better and to move safely. Fiona has undertaken a specific Level 3 Bone Health qualification, aimed at designing Pilates programmes that are both beneficial and safe for clients with bone health issues.
We believe that everyone can benefit from moving better! Whether you are an athlete, an occasional golfer, pregnant/a new mum, hunched over a laptop all day, recovering from injury, or grappling with mobility and bone health issues as you get older, we can help. We provide tuition for individuals or groups of two in our light and airy studio. We promise that your session will be fun, friendly and completely tailored for you.
